The Distinguished 服务 Alumni Award will be given to Greg 莱特 ’88 and honorary doctorates in medicine and law will be bestowed on Dr. 吉姆·布鲁斯和已故的威利·埃德蒙森市长.

He earned a bachelor of science degree from Auburn University and his medical degree from Duke University in Durham, N.C.

Dr. Bruce founded Orthopedic Clinic of West 乔治亚州 in LaGrange in 1982 and then, along with Dr. 丹尼尔·盖伊博士. 罗伯特·科默福德(Robert Comerford)于1995年建立了南方骨科中心. He joined Emory Healthcare in 2011 and continued to practice orthopedic surgery and sports medicine in LaGrange until his retirement in 2017.

He also serves as chair of the organization’s Healthcare Excellence Committee and its Local Hope Forever endowment campaign. Dr. Bruce also volunteers with Faith in Practice, a medical mission to Antigua, Guatemala.

Dr. Edmondson began serving as LaGrange’s District 2 councilmember in 1998 and was elected as the city’s first African American mayor in 2023. During his tenure, he helped bring important economic and community development projects to LaGrange. 一些值得注意的举措包括The Thread, 大灰狼小屋, 市中心走廊和格里格斯娱乐中心的重建.
